Every so often a design team comes along and approaches an established formula from a whole new angle. Vello rewrote the rules on ultra lightweight folding bikes, with their compact titanium model weighing in at under 7kg, complete with 20” wheels for speed and comfort

The Sub Series incorporates the same ethos: structural integrity paired with smart materials and folding components, so it is as easy to ride as it is to park indoors on a regular landing found in most cities

Compare the Vello Sub at 24.9 kg with a 60+kg ‘box bike’ offering the same number of seats and the advances become clear, even before adding a pair of Kiddos, a picnic or a couple of bags of groceries

So what are the options? Two geared models in copper or blue, plus a geared/single speed version in titanium.

The gears are integrated into the rear hub so they’re efficient and the drivetrain uses a belt drive, so it’s both clean and effectively maintenance free

All Vello Sub models are electric and include a powerful Bosch motor and a 400Wh battery (which you can upgrade to 545Wh, or include a second battery to go up to 250km between charges)
