Eskuta: SX-800 Series eMotorcycle
Description
The SX-800 Series models from Eskuta is a 29Mph eMotorcycle, providing a simple and capable option for both commuting and commercial deliveries. The lightweight design offers the convenience of a step-through with the power output to match, remaining 100% street legal for road use with a helmet, license and insurance. It is also exempt from VED and all emissions-based taxes.
The SX-800 costs less than the annual Oystercard for Zones 1-3 in 2024 too.
Choose your preferred colour, then upgrade for either Personal Mobility or Delivery Riders by including a rear box carrier, technology bar with integrated phone mount and charger.
The specifications include a massive 960Wh lithium-ion battery (with a handle), which can be removed for home charging or exchanged in seconds for a secondary pack. At twice the capacity of most eBikes in the UK, it provides for approximately 50 miles between top-ups, equalling that of conventional Mopeds and far more than most people commute each day. You can top-up from a regular socket too, just like a phone: there’s also a socket for this on the bike so the battery can stay in the bike whilst charging.
Commuters:
If you have ever subscribed to the annual Oystercard, then the prospect of funding your new SX-800 for less than a Zone 1-3 ticket may well have piqued your interest! This is a compelling alternative to public transport, with a similar outlay to your existing transport budget and you can go door to door without waiting around, so it is also significantly faster for most people in Cities.
Electric Motorcycles:
The classification as a motorbike require a CBT, license, number plate and road-going insurance for road use in much the same way as any moped or motorcycle. The advantage of this, is that you are then permitted to ride at a higher top speed, including with a passenger, with more power on tap. In Central London it isn’t really as much of a factor as when you ride out into the open countryside, which we have plenty of around Richmond.
Throttle Control:
Having a throttle allows for a familiar modulation of power, which can really help when you’re setting off from the lights or filtering through traffic with a pillion passenger.
Seasoned motorcycle riders find this model is easier to manoeuvre than conventional mopeds and motorcycles, because it’s significantly lighter than what they’re used to.
