Makena is far more than a miniature version of a mountain bike: it shares the core features and material selections with its bigger siblings, providing for the ride your ‘growing grom’ has been working up to. It’s lighter than many bikes designed for kids of half the size too, which make it considerably easier to ride, so they will relish it.

Integrating the suspension formula from ultra lightweight fat bikes, the high volume/low pressure tyres eat up the bumps and their knobbly bits provide optimum grip, without adding to the weight with heavy metal.

The gears adopt the same 1 x system as bigger bikes too, pairing a single twist shifter on the bars with a rear derailleur offering 7 speeds (rather than multiple levers). This really helps the transition to a geared bike, which can really up the ante on family rides!
